LÜMEN

Enter the Spirit of PORSCHE

LÜMEN
is a monumental 24-foot steel ring sculpture, tilted precisely at 23°—a deliberate nod to the Earth’s axial tilt and a subtle homage to the iconic form of the Porsche 911 headlight. This sculptural landmark merges industrial engineering with fine art, creating a gateway that reframes light, space, and movement.

Weighing over 10,000 pounds and composed of more than 800 custom-fabricated components, LÜMEN is built with meticulous craftsmanship. Its inner spine is wrapped with a continuous ribbon of contemporary calligraphy, designed to mimic the natural flow of motion, rhythm, and human expression. As daylight shifts, the sculpture reveals new shadows and highlights, allowing viewers to witness the artwork evolve hour by hour.

Brought to life by Toronto artists Javid Jah, Alex Akbari, and MEDÊIO, LÜMEN was selected from a competitive pool of over 150 international proposals. The trio fused their expertise in architecture, fabrication, and calligraphic artistry to create a piece that transcends its physical structure.

More than a sculpture, LÜMEN acts as a portal—an invitation to walk through a moment where engineering becomes poetry and light becomes an experience. It stands as a testament to collaboration, innovation, and the ability of public art to transform space into emotion.
